# Overlap studies

> Indicators on the price's own scale: simple, exponential, weighted, double and triple exponential, triangular, Kaufman adaptive, MESA adaptive, T3, Hull, zero-lag, Wilder and volume-weighted moving averages, variable-period MA, Hilbert trendline, midpoint and midprice; Bollinger, Keltner, Donchian and acceleration bands; parabolic SAR (standard and extended) and SuperTrend.

Toolset `ta_overlap`: 3 tools.

| Tool | What it does | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| `ta_moving_average` | A moving average of the closes (or of source, or of one series): any of 18 kinds, with every parameter. | |
| `ta_bands` | Price bands: upperband, middleband and lowerband aligned to the dates, with the warm-up reported and a line chart over the price. | |
| `ta_trailing_stop` | Trailing stop-and-reverse levels from high/low bars (SUPERTREND also reads close): the stop for every bar aligned to the dates, with the warm-up reported, and a line chart over the price. | |

Inputs, limits and outputs are described in [Fincept Technicals](/guides/fincept-technicals). Full schemas: `fincept_describe_tool`.
