# Descriptive statistics

> Summaries of every column, weighted statistics, correlation matrices, robust location and scale, empirical distributions and Q-Q comparisons.

Toolset `stats_descriptive`: 5 tools.

| Tool | What it does | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| `stats_describe` | Summary statistics of each numeric column: count, missing, mean, standard deviation, standard error, 95% confidence interval of the mean, min, percentiles, max, skewness, kurtosis, Jarque-Bera normality test, mode and the share of distinct values. | core |
| `stats_weighted_stats` | Weighted mean, variance, standard deviation, quantiles, the confidence interval of the mean and a t test of the mean against test\_value. | |
| `stats_correlation` | Correlation matrix of the numeric columns (pairwise complete rows) with each pair's p-value. | core |
| `stats_robust_scale` | Outlier-resistant location and scale: median, median absolute deviation (normal-consistent), interquartile range scale, Qn scale and Huber's joint location and scale, beside the plain mean and standard deviation. | |
| `stats_distribution_compare` | The empirical CDF of the values and their Q-Q comparison with a fitted reference distribution (normal by default. | |

Inputs, limits and outputs are described in [Fincept Stats](/guides/fincept-stats). Full schemas: `fincept_describe_tool`.
