# Calendar operations on dated series

> Bucket a series by week, month, quarter or year; cut a date range; keep only business days of a holiday calendar; day, month, year, quarter and weekday of each date; accrual fractions between dates; interpolation onto chosen dates; and splicing several series end to end.

Toolset `quant_calendar`: 3 tools.

| Tool | What it does | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| `quant_series_calendar` | Calendar operations on one dated series: resample into weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly buckets (max, min, mean, sum, first, last), cut a date range, keep only business days of a holiday calendar, extract each date's day, month, year, quarter or weekday, or the accrual year fraction between consecutive dates under a day count convention. | |
| `quant_interpolate` | The series read on chosen dates: carried forward from the last known value (step), only where the series has the date (intersect), or with gaps as null or zero. | |
| `quant_splice` | Splices the columns of a dated table, in column order, into one series: append later history, prepend older history (e.g. a proxy before a listing date), or fill one series' missing dates from others (union). | |

Inputs, limits and outputs are described in [Fincept Quant](/guides/fincept-quant). Full schemas: `fincept_describe_tool`.
