# VS Code

> Add Fincept MCP to VS Code (GitHub Copilot agent mode) and sign in.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the server">
    Create `.vscode/mcp.json` in the workspace:

    ```json theme={"dark"}
    {
      "servers": {
        "fincept": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://enterprise.fincept.in/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Or add it for your user profile from the command line:

    ```bash theme={"dark"}
    code --add-mcp "{\"name\":\"fincept\",\"type\":\"http\",\"url\":\"https://enterprise.fincept.in/mcp\"}"
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Start the server from `mcp.json` (or the **MCP: List Servers** command). VS Code asks to sign in; approve the connection on fincept.in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use it">
    Open Copilot Chat in **Agent** mode. Fincept tools appear in the tools picker.
